Definition
Verified Gross Mass refers to the total weight of a packed container, including its contents and packaging materials. It is a regulatory requirement under the International Maritime Organization's Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) convention, and it must be accurately determined and verified before the container is loaded onto a vessel.
