STC, which stands for Said to Contain, is a term used on a bill of lading or shipping document to indicate that the carrier or shipper has not physically verified the contents of the shipment. It implies that the carrier takes no responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of the goods being shipped and relies on the shipper's representation of the shipment's contents.
