A Negotiable B/L is a document issued by a carrier or their agent to acknowledge the receipt of goods and serve as evidence of the contract of carriage. It is a document of title that can be transferred to a third party through endorsement and delivery. The negotiable nature of the bill of lading allows for the transfer of ownership of the goods during transit.
