Container number
A container number is a unique identification code assigned to a shipping container for tracking and identification purposes throughout the supply chain. It consists of a combination of letters and numbers that follow the ISO 6346 standard format, typically comprising four letters, followed by a series of digits. The container number is displayed on the exterior of the container and is used by various stakeholders, including carriers, shippers, and customs authorities, to track and trace the container's movement, monitor its status, and ensure efficient logistics operations.
