In the supply chain, "booking" refers to the process of reserving space for cargo on a vessel, aircraft, or other transportation mode. It involves providing details such as the origin, destination, quantity, and type of goods to the carrier or freight forwarder. The booking serves as a contractual agreement between the shipper and the transportation provider, confirming the transportation arrangements and ensuring that the cargo will be accommodated on the specified shipment
