In an industry where days matter and predictability drives profitability, shippers and forwarders are increasingly relying on accurate, real-time data to plan and optimize their supply chains. At Vizion, we’ve made it our mission to bring greater transparency to global ocean freight. In 2024 alone, we’ve tracked more than 13.3 million container journeys across all major trade lanes, powered by event-level data from over 230 trusted sources.
Now, we’re turning that data into actionable insight.
We’re excited to release the first two in a new series of Carrier Performance Reports designed to evaluate how well ocean carriers perform against their own estimated time of arrivals (ETAs). Vizion analyzed the accuracy of estimated time of arrivals (ETAs) provided by ocean carriers to better understand reliability and performance trends. ETAs differ from carrier schedules, in that they are the carrier's first operational information shared after a container departs origin.
What’s Inside the Reports?
Each report includes:
- Carrier ETA Performance – The percentage of containers arriving on time vs. delayed, and by how many days
- Carrier Transit Times – Average time in transit and how long typical delays last, carrier by carrier
- Carrier Report Card – Each carrier receives a grade from A (Excellent) to F (Poor) for quick benchmarking
