New Carrier Performance Report Series Expands to Transatlantic Trade Lane

April 10, 2025

Ocean freight delays don’t just cause frustration - they can ripple across supply chains, disrupt inventory flow, and impact customer satisfaction. That’s why more shippers and forwarders are prioritizing real-time visibility into carrier performance to understand how often ocean carriers actually deliver on time.

At Vizion, we specialize in turning container movement data into actionable intelligence. Throughout 2024, we tracked over 13.3 million container journeys from more than 230 trusted data sources. Using this foundation, we’ve launched a growing series of Carrier Performance Reports that evaluate how accurately ocean carriers hit their estimated time of arrival (ETA) targets.

Today, we’re excited to release a new report covering the Transatlantic trade lane, joining previously published analyses for the Transpacific (North America-Asia), Asia–South America, and Asia–Europe lanes. Each report equips logistics teams with data to benchmark carrier reliability, manage expectations, and plan smarter for your ocean freight movement.

What’s Inside the Reports?

Each report provides insights into carrier performance, including:

  1. ETA Accuracy – See the percentage of containers arriving on time versus delayed, along with the average number of days late.
  2. Transit Time Insights – Understand how long containers typically stay in transit, including average delays, broken down by carrier.
  3. Carrier Report Card – Quickly benchmark performance with letter grades (A to F) assigned to each carrier based on their reliability.

We’re excited to announce the latest addition to our report series — the Transatlantic Trade Lane, covering routes between North America and Europe.

This is a strategically important trade lane for both industrial and consumer supply chains, yet it often receives less performance analysis than other global routes. Our new report highlights notable differences in on-time reliability across carriers, port pair variability, and average transit times that shippers can use to benchmark performance and better manage transatlantic logistics operations.
